Yup, I'm going to play tribute to the King of Pop like many other dA artists who were fans.
I'm not going to tell what I'm doing, but I will say that I'm going to do more than one tribute.
I feel so sorry for his family. The media isn't going to let the poor guy rest in peace.
Farrah and Ed may have been tossed to the wayside but at least the media isn't bashing and trashing them. *shakes head*
The other day, while I was at work, a woman came in with a little boy who looked about five. He was singing "Beat It" and trying to moonwalk. I thought it was so adorable yet sad at the same time: adorable for obvious reasons but sad because if MJ hadn't died, the little boy probably would have never heard Michael's music.
I told him to keep trying that he might eventually get the moonwalk right and he suddenly said "Mommy, why did he have to die?"
His mother looked like she was at a loss for words so I said "You know we all have to die someday, right?"
The boy nodded his head and said, "We learn that in bible class."
So I thought a moment, noting they were in their Sunday Best, and said, "Well, God decided it was his time to go home to Heaven so He called Michael home. Now he's in Heaven, singing for the angels."
He looked like he was thinking it over then nodded and said okay.
I've said more than once that I'm not very religious but I've also said on more than one occasion that I love children so I couldn't help myself with that answer.
Monday, while I was stocking the fountain drink cups, I was singing "Black or White" and some guy walked in the store. He noticed I was singing and said "So you like Michael Jackson?" I knew something bad was coming so I shrugged and said "Yeah, he was the shit." The guy then started singing "The Way You Make Me Feel" and I must say he sang it very badly and quite off-key. I then started singing "Beat It" and he said "Why you gotta be that way?" and one of my regulars, who had been in the store at the time, said "Man, I wouldn't mess with her, she's bad." And started singing an altered version of "Bad":instead of singing "I'm bad" he was singing "She's bad"
A word to the wise: don't use a song as a come-on line. It's just terrible and somewhat pathetic.
<.< >.>
THRILLER, THRILLER NIGHT NOTHING'S GONNA SAVE YOU FROM THE BEAST ABOUT TO STRIKE
I didn't know that my dad likes Michael Jackson.
But when "Thriller" was playing on the tv the other day, my dad said "Turn it up. I love this song and I love watching him dance." I gave him a disbelieving look and he said "Oh yeah Michael Jackson was one of the best."
Well, I'm going to poke about on dA a bit longer then I'm going to work on my current tribute project.
Much Love,
DGA
