Covering the Bases

Thu Jul 9, 2009, 11:07 PM
  • Mood: dA Love
  • Listening to: Hellboy II (I ADORE Nuada)
  • Reading: your mind
  • Watching: you guys
  • Playing: dead
  • Eating: ramen
  • Drinking: Dr. Pepper
I'm currently coloring a base I found here on dA and will post it when I'm finished.
I'm using it for practice with my tablet and it's helping me out a lot :D
I'm going to look for other nice/interesting bases to color for tablet practice.
I may even make my own bases for others to enjoy. I don't know yet.

By the way, for anyone who doesn't know, a base is the human figure drawing that is without hair and clothes and when you color it, it is considered a doll.
*reads what was just typed*
Umm...yeah, I'm bad at technical descriptions.
I can give wonderful poetic descriptions though :D
So remember, if you want a poetic description for something, ask me and I'll help!

What do I mean by a poetic description? I can paint a picture of the person being described, using words.
The following two descriptions are of the same character (Kel'olin) but the first is plain/bland while the second is more poetic/visual:

1) He had straight black hair that fell to his waist, white skin, and deep black eyes, all of which were signs of Drow albinism. He had a slightly muscular build and a dominating posture.

2) He had ebony hair that flowed arrow-straight to his waist, an alabaster complexion, and fathomless jet colored eyes, which were marked signs of albinism for the Drow species. He had an athletic build and a confident posture which showed his alpha male status.

See how the second one paints a better picture of Kel'olin? The first description could be of anyone but the second inserts more of his personality.
I don't know if you would technically call it "poetic" but that's the term one of my high school English teachers used for my descriptive skills.

<.< >.>

I still love you guys ya know :blowkiss: and don't forget it!

I'm going to dig around on dA for more pixel bases.

Much Love,
DGA
